Sturgis City Commission Sets 2025 Millage Rates

(STURGIS) – Millage rates have been set for the City of Sturgis for the 2025 summer tax bills.
During their meeting Monday night, the Sturgis City Commission held a public hearing on the proposed millage rates. City Clerk Ken Rhodes gives a run down on the proposed millages. ...... {LISTEN}.
The Commission voted to approve an operating millage rate of 11.0800 mills, which is the same as it was for 2024. They also approved the street and sidewalk millage rate of 2.9667 mills.
In addition to the millage rates, as typically approved by the City Commission, a 1% tax administration fee is scheduled to be collected on all City tax bills this year. The fee is authorized and recommended by the State of Michigan to allow communities to recover the costs of tax collection.
