Michigan Jobless Rate Down Slightly In May

(LANSING) – Michigan’s statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped slightly from April to May.
According to data released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget, the State’s unemployment rate went down from 5/5% om April to 5.4% in May. Employment was reduced by 5,000 over the month, and the number of unemployed people fell by 1,000. Michigan’s labor force receded by 7,000 during May.
Construction jobs in Michigan increased by 2.1% over the month. Financial Activities went up 0.9% and Total Non Farm Payroll Jobs went up 0.2%.
