(COLDWATER) – A man arrested following a two state chase has been returned to Michigan.
Branch County Prosecutor Zach Stempien says 21 year old Logan Baxla was extradited from the Steuben County Jail on Tuesday and is now in the Branch County Jail.
On June 7, deputies with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a motorcycle at 1:16 AM on I-69 that was traveling at 113 MPH. The driver, later identified as Baxla, refused to stop and lead Branch County deputies across the State Line. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police joined the pursuit.
Baxla got off of I-69, disregarding a stop sign at the exit and then got back on the highway and continued heading south. At the next exit, he failed to negotiate a curve and drove into the grass, coming to a stop.
Baxla was arrested and a female passenger was released at the scene.
Stempien says Baxla is charged in Michigan with third degree fleeing and eluding.
Baxla is facing charges in Steuben County of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and for having an outstanding warrant.
