(COLDWATER) – Authorities say a Coldwater man died early Monday morning, apparently of a fatal gunshot wound.

Coldwater Director of Public Safety Joseph Scheid says the Coldwater Police was called to a residence on North Fremont Street at 2:22 AM Monday regarding a shooting. When they arrived, officers found 63 year old Gordon Miracle dead in the home.

The other residents were not harmed.

Scheid says police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.

Assisting at the scene were the Michigan State Police, the Branch County Sheriff’s Office and the Branch County Sheriff’s Victim Services Unit.
