(MARSHALL) – Work will start Monday on four St. Joseph County bridges.
Nick Schirripa with the Michigan Department of Transportation says MDOT and contractor Anlaan Corporation will be performing preventive maintenance on the four bridges.
One of the bridges is on M-60 over Little Portage Creek, between Railroad Street and Lake Street in Mendon.
Another is on M-86 over Swan Creek, between Swan Street and Goodell Street in Colon.
The bridge on M-86 over the Prairie River, between Centreville-Constantine Road and Strobel Road, west of Centreville will be worked on, along with the bridge on M-86 over the Prairie Rivers, between Findley Road and Bucknell Road, east of Centreville.
Schirripa says the $276,00 investment includes penetrating healer-sealer, cleaning and sealing joints, silane treatment, concrete beam repairs and pavement markings. These projects will extend the life of the bridges and improve ride quality.
There will be single lane closures with each of these projects. Work should be completed by August 29.
