Sturgis girls track team repeats as Wolverine Conference Champs

(THREE RIVERS) – The Wolverine Conference Track Meet was held Friday at Three Rivers, and in the girl’s portion, Sturgis took first place and repeated as the Wolverine Conference Champions. Keyanna O’Tey was first in the 100 meters and the 200 meters, and was also part of the winning 400 meter relay and the 800 meter relay teams. Sydney Bir was first in the 400 meters and also a member of the winning 800 meter, 1600 meter and 3200 meter relay teams. Eleena Kelley won the discus and set a new school record of 130’1”. Kylie Brooks won the 300 meter hurdles. Tenley Banaszak finished second in the 100 meters and was on the winning 400 meter relay team. Kinder Smith came in second in the 400 meters and was also part of the winning 1600 meter and 3200 meter relay teams. Sturgis girls coach Lesley Starkey was named the 2025 Wolverine Conference Girls Coach Of The Year. O’Tey was named the Athlete Of The Meet. The Three Rivers girls finished eighth.
