(HAMILTON) – The Sturgis girls track team won the Division 2 State Championship with 54.2 points on the day. Claiming individual State Championships were Eleena Kelly in the discus (135’9”), and setting a new school record in the event, and Vivian Massey in the adaptive shot put (13’3.75”). In addition the 400 meter relay team of Tenley Banaszak, Angela Cary, Keyanna O’Tey, Hannah Garbine were State Champions in a time of 48:48 which is a new school record. The 800 meter relay team of Addison Eicher, Hannah Garbine, Sydney Bir, and Keyanna O’Tey also won a State Title in a time of 1:42.80, a new school record. The 3200 meter relay of Sydney Bir, Tessa Hatt, Kinder Smith, and Berkley Holtz finished third at 9:30.57, which is a new school record. The 1600 meter relay team of Kinder Smith, Sydney Bir, Hannah Garbine Berkley Holtz finished fifth at 4:06.91. O’Tey finished second in the 100 meters of 11:68, a new school record and was third in the 200 meters at 24.26, also a school record. Angela Cary finished in a tie for 8th in the high jump at 5’1”.
