(STURGIS) – A suspect has been arrested following an incident on the north side of Sturgis.

The Sturgis Department of Public Safety says their officers along with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, were called to the 300 block of West Jerolene Street at 7:30 PM Tuesday for a domestic assault, which turned into a barricaded gunman at the house.

The suspect was able to flee the home prior to officers establishing a perimeter.

He was later arrested in the 200 block of West Main Street without incident. He was arrested on several felony charges and is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.
