Union City Schools To Present Bond Proposal To Voters

(UNION CITY) – Voters in the Union City School District will be asked to decide the fate of a bond proposal next week. .
Due to a $23.6 million grant from the State of Michigan, Union City Superintendent Chris Katz says the bond proposal is only asking for a 0.84 mill increase, which comes out to around $1 per week for the average homeowner. If it’s approved, the bond would raise $18.9 million through a 30 year bond to support major facility improvements.

Katz says at the Elementary level they will add a Kindergarten classroom and address some important safety and infrastructure needs.
Polls will be open August 5 from 7 AM until 8 PM.
