(STURGIS) – Sturgis Public Schools has their millage rates set for the 2025-2026 school year.

Monday, the Sturgis Board of Education was presented with the annual millage rates by Finance Director Ray Sterling, who also shares how much the millage rates have gone down from the previous school year. ...... {LISTEN}.

Sterling says the decrease in the millage rates is due to the Headlee Rollback Amendment.

Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert reminded the Board that because of the Headlee Rollback, the District is not able to collect the full 18 mills for the Operating Millage, which cost Sturgis Schools money last year and will again in 2025-2026. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Board of Education approved the millage rates by a unanimous vote.
