(JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP) – A teenager is dead after being struck by a truck while riding a dirt bike.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened just after 12:30 PM Friday at the intersection of Mullen Road and Hospital Street in Jefferson Township. The 15 year old was heading south on Mullen Road and did not yield to oncoming traffic while crossing the intersection at Hospital Street. The dirt bike was struck by a truck heading east on Hospital Street.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene, and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Their name has not been released.
