Police Arrest Bank Robbery Suspect In Wheelchair

(ELKHART) – Authorities say a man in a wheelchair, accused of robbing a bank, has been arrested.
The Elkhart Police Department was called to the 1sta Source Bank in the 100 block of East Franklin Street just after 9 AM Tuesday. The caller said a man entered the bank and presented a note demanding money. The employee complied and the man left the building.
Just a few minutes later, officers found a man near the bank matching the description of the robber. The man was in a wheelchair and was taken into custody. Police found the money allegedly taken during the robbery on the man.
No weapon was shown during the robbery. The man is being held in the Elkhart County Jail on a preliminary charge of robbery.
