Colon BOE Hears From Community On Superintendent Search

(COLON) – The Colon Board of Education heard from the community on what they would like to see in the next Colon Superintendent.
A small crowd showed up for the special Board of Education meeting Wednesday in the Colon High School cafeteria to give their input to the Board on what characteristics they would like to see in the new Superintendent.
Sonia Kevnick, Supervisor of Student Support for Colon Schools spoke to the Board and gives her thoughts on what a Superintendent should exemplify. ...... {LISTEN}.
Martha Graham, a former Colon Schools employee and Colon School Board member shared her perspective on what kind of Superintendent the Board should be looking for. ...... {LISTEN}.
School Board President Rebecca Stoll says there is a survey on the Colon Schools website for those who couldn’t attend the meeting and still want to give their input. They can also stop at Colon High School to get a paper copy of the survey.
Colon Schools Director of Operations Olivia Spidle says six individuals have applied for the position so far. The deadline for applications to be accepted is June 9. The Board will have a special meeting June 11 to selected the applicants they want to interview.
Rachel Kowalski resigned as the Colon Superintendent, after three years in the position.
