(UNDATED) – Work is scheduled to be done on some highways this summer around West Michigan.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that they and contractor Pavement Maintenance Systems are investing more than $4 million to do chip sealing, crack sealing, and fog sealing on 38.6 miles along five state highways.
Nick Schirripa, MDOT Communications Representative for the Southwest Region says that work will be done on U.S. 131 Business Route from the north intersection with U.S. 131 to Spring Street in Constantine Township.
There will also be work on M-216 from M-40 to U.S. 131 in St. Joseph and Cass Counties, along with on M-103 from the Michigan-Indiana State Line to Cecelia Street in Mottville; and M-40 from Bradt Road to south of East Elm Street in Marcellus.
Schirripa said traffic regulators will guide the flow of traffic in areas with single-lane closures. He says all work is expected to be completed by the end of August.
