Mendon boys top Marcellus 69-38 in Holiday Tournament opener

(MENDON) - Host Mendon knocked off Marcellus 69-38 in the opening game of the Mendon Holiday Tournament. Coach Matt Gorham says his team got out of the gate slow but picked it up in the second quarter and went on to get the win. Owen Gorham led the Hornets with 24 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. He also reached 1000 points for his career, joining his brother Ryder in the 1000 points club. Ryder Gorham added 22 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Carter Huston had 7 points and 4 rebounds. Mendon is now 7-0 on the season, and will face Galesburg-Augusta in the Tournament Championship game on Friday. The Rams beat Martin 63-41 in their opening round contest.
