(UNDATED) - Several millage requests were on the ballot in Tuesday's Primary Election.
The Sturgis District Library was seeking a ten-year renewal of their millage, and were asking for 1.0548 mills. It passed with 61.94% or 1,639 Yes votes to 38.06% or 1,007 No votes.
The St. Joseph County Transportation Authority was asking for a four-year renewal of their millage, which was .33 of a mill. It also passed with 6,650 Yes votes or 67.62% and 3,185 or 32.38% No votes.
White Pigeon Schools presented a sinking fund millage to replace the building and site sinking fund. It was defeated with a total of 632 No votes between St. Joseph and Cass Counties and 606 Yes votes. It did pass in St. Joseph County along with 472 Yes votes and 469 No votes, but was defeated in Cass County with 163 No votes and 134 votes.
Voters in Park Township approved a road millage request of four-tenths of a mill for three years. There were 304 Yes votes (52.5%) and 275 No (47.5% votes. The millage will raise and estimated $105,000 in the first year.
Nottawa Township residents passed a road millage request that was asking for 1 mill for five years. Yes votes totaled 484 (63.85%) while the No votes were 274 (36.15%).
