(CENTREVILLE) - The St. Joseph County United Way is looking to help in the aftermath of the June 11 storm.
Executive Director Kelly Hostetler says the St. Joseph County United Way is coordinating community response efforts and is seeking volunteers to help with the cleanup and recovery needs throughout the County.
Community groups, service clubs, church organizations, and company volunteer teams that are interested in helping with storm cleanup efforts are encouraged to contact the United Way by calling 269-467-9099 to be added to a volunteer response list.
As cleanup needs are identified, volunteers will be contacted and matched with opportunities to serve.
Hostetler says community support is critical during times like these, and the United Way is grateful for those willing to lend a hand and help neighbors recover from the storm.
Residents who need assistance with storm debris cleanup and have limited resources or no other options for help are encouraged to contact the United Way. The organization is working to connect residents with available volunteers. While assistance cannot be guaranteed, every effort will be made to match needs with volunteer resources.
In addition to recovery efforts, the United Way will host a food distribution event this Friday, June 19 at 12 PM at Radiant Life Church in Sturgis. A total of 200 food boxes will be available during the distribution. Families in need who are unable to attend the event may contact the United Way by calling 269-467-9099 to arrange pickup of a food box, while supplies last.
