By: Mike Stiles • December 1, 2025 • (UNDATED)

(UNDATED) - The season's first major snowfall was everything forecasters said it would be.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall amounts in St. Joseph County ranged from 7 to 9 inches from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning.

Snowfall totals in LaGrange County and in Branch County ranged from 6 to 8 inches from the front that moved through the area.

Snow began to fall early Saturday afternoon and picked up in intensity during the afternoon and evening hours. Roadways became slippery, leading to several slide offs and accidents around the area.

Forecasters are calling for more snow starting later tonight and into the overnight hours.
