(WASHINGTON D.C.) - U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg has voted in favor of legislation that would help farm programs.
Walberg, a Republican who represents Michigan's 5th U.S. District cast a Yes vote for the Farm, Food And National Security Act. It authorizes farm programs for the next five years to support American farmers, ranchers and agricultural producers.
The legislation provides long overdue regulatory certainty for interstate commerce, enhances risk management tools for specialty crop producers, reduces energy costs for rural families, and champions American commodities in global markets.
Walberg says America's hardworking farmers deserve policies that reflect the realities they face today. He says this Farm Bill builds on the successes of the Working Families Tax Cuts, which provided the largest investment to American farmers in at least a generation, to ensure farmers have the tools they need to thrive.
