(BRYAN) - An Edgerton man will spend up to 21.5 years in prison after admitting to a series of serious felony crimes -- including endangering police during a high-speed chase, stealing vehicles, and possessing drugs. WTOL reports that Craig Mosler Jr. pleaded guilty in two separate cases covering months of criminal activity. In the first case, Mosler admitted to two counts of attempted felonious assault on police officers. Investigators say he drove into oncoming traffic during a high-speed pursuit, forcing officers -- traveling at nearly 100 miles per hour -- to take evasive action. His co-defendent, Zachary Chervenko, 33, was sentenced to 6.5 years for his part in the felony chase and child endangerment charges. Mosler was trying to help Chervenko escape police.

Mosler was sentenced to 7 to 10.5 years on each count, to be served back-to-back. In the second case, Mosler pleaded guilty to multiple theft and tampering charges tied to stolen vehicles, weapons, and cash. He also admitted to fleeing police and possessing drugs. He was given 48 months, to run consecutively to the previous sentences. A bribery charge -- accusing Mosler of trying to influence witness testimony -- was dismissed in a plea deal. On top of the new sentence, Mosler must also serve a separate 47-month term out of Defiance County.
