Three Rivers Man Arrested On Multiple Charges

By: Mike Stiles • April 3, 2026 • Coldwater, MI.

(COLDWATER) - A suspect was arrested Thursday on multiple charges following a lengthy investigation.

Branch County Prosecutor Zachary Stempien says his office has charged Keith Johnson of Three Rivers and formerly of Calhoun County with four counts of child sexually abusive activity, one count of using a computer to commit a 20 year or more felony; one count of using a computer to commit a felony of 4 years or more but less than 10 years and four counts of possession of child sexually abusive material.

In February 2025 Calhoun County Detectives conducted an investigation into Johnson regarding recording unclothed persons. While Johnson lived in Calhoun County at the time, he worked at Legg Middle School in Coldwater.

Johnson was arrested at the school and his cell phone was seized.

During the Calhoun County investigation, evidence was found that Johnson had taken images of clothed underage girls and by using an app, altered them into nude photographs. Further investigation by the Coldwater Police Department identified the children depicted in the photos, resulting in the charges authorized by Stempien.

Johnson is no longer employed by Coldwater Schools.

He is being held in the Branch County Jail.
