(STURGIS) - A Sturgis man has received a very prestigious award.

During their regular luncheon meeting Thursday, the Exchange Club of Sturgis presented the 2025 Book Of Golden Deeds Award to Bruce Gosling.

Exchange Club member Claudia Pahls shared that the award is the highest recognition given by the Exchange Club. It recognizes the truly outstanding contributions made by a person or persons to their country, community or fellow man.

Gosling graduated from Sturgis High School in 1976, received his Associates Degree from Glen Oaks Community College in 1978 and his Bachelor's Degree from Tri-State University in 1980.

He has been involved in several organizations over the years including the Sturgis Kiwanis Club, the Sturgis Exchange Club, the Salvation Army of St. Joseh and Branch Counties and was a founding member of the Sturgis Neighborhood Program.

Long time friend and previous Book Of Golden Deeds winner Eric Eishen says that Gosling has a unique condition that is one of the reasons he won the award.....and that is he can't say No when people ask him for help or to get involved.

Gosling says if you are going to be a part of an organization, you go all the way. He says just being a member and not being active member you're wasting your dues. (LISTEN ABOVE).

The Exchange Club of Sturgis started presenting the award in 1940.
