(THREE RIVERS) - The Three Rivers Promise recently surpassed the $1 million milestone in its community-driven fundraising campaign.

Organizers say this achievement marks a major step toward the program's initial goal of building a self-sustaining endowment to support the future of Three Rivers High School graduates.

The program is currently in its initial fundraising phase. The organization has outlined a clear path for activating scholarship awards. First is the $3 million milestone. Once this goal is reached, the Three Rivers Promise will begin accepting applications and awarding scholarships to eligible graduates.

Second is long term vision, with the ultimate aim to create an endowment that provides tuition assistance for every qualifying student.

The Three Rivers Promise scholarship program is designed to remove financial barriers to higher education and encourage local enrollment in postsecondary education opportunities.

Scholarships will be available to Three Rivers High School graduates who have attended Three Rivers Community Schools for the last consecutive four years prior to graduation. The scholarship will provide funding towards up to four years of in-state tuition and mandatory fees at approved Michigan colleges and vocational/technical skills training programs that are not covered by Federal or State grant resources.

Reaching the $1 million milestone was made possible by an extraordinary outpouring of support from local families, individuals, businesses and community organizations.

The Promise is embarking on its next phase, a capital campaign in the coming year. If you would like to donate or volunteer for upcoming fundraising efforts, you can contact The Promise at support@threeriverspromise.com.
