(COLDWATER) - Charges are being sought against a 53-year-old Coldwater man following a narcotics investigation.
Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship says in January his office received information that a man was involved in the distribution of narcotics, specifically methamphetamine.
During the investigation, deputies conducted a traffic stop on the suspect during nighttime hours on February 7. During the traffic stop, deputies located packages of suspected methamphetamine.
Following the traffic stop, deputies then received a search warrant for a residence in the 300 block of Perkins Street. During the search, officers found additional suspected narcotics, evidence consistent with narcotics sales, and several firearms.
Blankenship says the Branch County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the information from the investigation.
Assisting with the investigation was the Coldwater Police Department, the Coldwater Police Department K-9 Unit, and Branch County Central Dispatch.
