MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP – Authorities are investigating the body of a woman found in a vehicle in the White Pigeon River.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Brad Balk says his department was called to the White Pigeon River hear Blue School Road after receiving a call about a car in the water. The vehicle was removed and police discovered the body of the woman.
According to witnesses statements, the car struck the bridge around 3 AM Friday and then went into the river.
The woman's name has not been released, pending the notification of family members. The incident remains under investigation.
