County Council limits new highway clerk

LAGRANGE – 60 days instead of 6 months.

That’s what the LaGrange County Council decided to fund for training of a new highway department clerk position requested by Highway Superintendent Randy VanWagner. That request was passed on to the council this morning by the Human Resources Committee without a recommendation. VanWagner requested $24,720 dollars for the fulltime position.

County Engineer Sarah Farlow updated council on the status of the new county justice building project. She said $147,015 was spent so far. A ground breaking for the $3.7 million dollar project is set for June 1st. However excavation of the basement could begin as early as next week.
