(SHERMAN TOWNSHIP) – A motorcycle pursuit ended with the arrest of multiple individuals.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff Office says on Tuesday, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspect operating a reported stolen motorcycle in the area of Shimmel road and Storms Road. The suspect failed to stop which started a pursuit.

The individual eventually abandoned the motorcycle and ran away from the scene. Deputies established a perimeter, and called in a K-9 unit, a drone along with members of the St. Joseph Valley Special Response Team to help with the search.

The suspect was located and taken into custody without further incident. Other individuals connected to the case were also arrested at the scene on charges that include fleeing and eluding police; resisting and obstructing police and possession of methamphetamine.

Also assisting were the Michigan State Police, the White Pigeon Police Department and Life Care Ambulance.

No major injuries were reported, and the investigation continues.
