Sturgis bowling teams in action at Allegan/South Haven Invitational
(GRAND RAPIDS) – The Sturgis boys and girls bowling teams were in action at the Don Lamb Allegan/South Haven Invitational on Friday. The action took place at Spectrum Lanes in Grand Rapids. The Sturgis boys finished 10tha out of 12 teams with a total of 2233 pins. The Lady Trojans finished seventh out of eight teams, with a total of 1648 pints. Coach Scott Spahr says there were several season and career highs for the Trojans teams.
Sturgis bowling teams compete at Coldwater Midway Singles event
(COLDWATER) – On Sunday, the Sturgis bowling teams participated in the First Annual Coldwater Singles Tournament at Midway Lanes. In the Girls competition, there were 22 participants, with Sturgis’ Khara Kimes qualifying fourth with a four game series of 609. Kimes won her quarterfinal match of Megan Ramey of Hastings 292-284. In the semfinals, Kimes lost to Heaven Simmet of Hastings 309-269. In the boys portion of the event, Andrew Matz of Sturgis qualified fourth with a four game total of 752. He would then fall to Hunter Pennington in the quarterfinals 404-388.
