(MENDON) – A Three Rivers woman is facing multiple charges of criminal sexual conduct.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor Deborah J. Davis says 28 year old Kaitlyn Lee Sand has been charged in connection with alleged sexual assaults involving two minor victims. It’s alleged the incidents happened between February and April 2023. She was arrested following an investigation by the Mendon Police Department.

Investigators allege Sand met the victims through her work as a contract employee in food service at Mendon Jr./Sr. High School, and used various social media platforms to contact the victims repeatedly. The incidents allegedly occurred in Mendon and Three Rivers.

Sand was arraigned Monday on two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct; two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of tampering with evidence in a criminal case, which are all felonies; and a misdemeanor count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.

Sand is scheduled to have a pre-trial conference on October 14 and a preliminary hearing on October 21 at 1 PM.
