Violent Offender Taken Into Custody

(MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP) – A violent offender has been taken into custody.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says at 6 PM on September 3, the St. Joseph Valley Special Response Team assisted with the location and apprehension of a known violent offender. The 26 year old man, who had outstanding warrants, was located at a residence in the 11,000 block of Riverside Drive in Mottville Township.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the St. Joseph County Jail.

During the operation, authorities say additional individuals at the residence were also found to have outstanding warrants and were taken into custody. They are all being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.

Investigators also recovered additional evidence during a search of the property. The matter is still under investigation and no further arrests have been made at this time.

The St. Joseph Valley Special Response Team is a multi-agency tactical unit comprised of members from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office; the Sturgis Department of Public Safety; and the Three Rivers, White Pigeon, Colon; Constantine/Centreville and Coldwater Police Departments along with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.
