(DEKALB COUNTY) – An Auburn man was injured in a two vehicle accident.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 20 year old Rian Slone of Auburn was driving in the northbound passing lane of I-69 near the 326 mile marker just after 5:30 PM Tuesday. Deputies say his vehicle left the road, due to Slone having a seizure. It went into the median and struck the cable and concrete barrier, swerved back into the roadway and stopped directly in the middle of both lanes.
A second northbound vehicle operated by 21 year old Emma Miller of Auburn swerved to to the right to avoid colliding with Slone and went off the road.
Miller was not injured.
Slone and his two passengers were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Slone complained of neck pain. His front seat passenger, 21 year old Windezsa Maxwell of Auburn denied care. 8 week old Paisley Slone was not injured.
The Auburn Fire Department, Indiana State Police and Parkview EMS all assisted at the scene.
