(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Public Schools’ Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting with hopes of naming a food service partner.

During Monday’s regular meeting, Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared that the District had not heard back from the State of Michigan on if they approved a recommendation on a partner for Sturgis Schools.

Ebert then made a recommendation to hold a special meeting instead of waiting for the next regular meeting on April 8, and explains why. ...... {LISTEN}.

During last week’s study session, Ebert shared that following a lengthy process, the School District made a recommendation to the Board of Education and to the State on a partner for their Food Service Department. However, due to some delays from the State, the recommendation had not been approved yet, after it was hoped the District would have word from the State by Monday.

The Board of Education unanimously approved holding a special meeting on Thursday at 5:30 PM to hopefully approve that recommendation.
