(COLDWATER) – The Branch County Commission On Aging will be bringing a millage renewal proposal to the voters later this year.

During a recent Branch County Commission meeting, the COA’s Board of Directors asked for the millage renewal to be placed before the voters during the August 6 Primary election. The current millage is set to end in 2024.

If the Commissioners agree to put the matter on the ballot, the COA would be asking to extend their current millage for another four years. It would be for 0.4857 mills, which is due to the Headlee Amendment rollback.

Should the renewal be approved, it would raise $868,017 in 2025. The millage accounts for over 75% of the COA’s annual budget.
