(LAGRANGE) – The Lakeland School Corporation is continually striving to improve in all areas.

Superintendent Dr. Traci Blaize says recently the Administrators and the Lakeland Board of School Trustees worked together to set goals for improvement. One of the goals is to improve their communication by being more available to the public they serve. To accomplish this, the Board is scheduling a Listening Tour as a small group outreach to the public.

Blaize says the Board will have stops in each of the Districts, with the representative for the District and one or two other members in attendance. In order to be in compliance with Indiana’s open door laws, the number of members present must be kept under four to avoid a quorum.

The first stop on the listening tour will be Saturday, September 9 at Lima-Brighton Elementary School. The members will be in the library from 9 to 10 AM and coffee will be available. Board President Brett Bateman, Secretary Rob West and Board member Kara Howard will be in attendance.

The public is asked to enter through Door #1.
