Area Schools Taking Steps Due To Forecasted Heat

(UNDATED) – With the temperatures forecasted to be in the 90’s the next two days, some area schools are taking steps to protect their students.

Centreville Public Schools have announced that Wednesday will be a half -day for all students. There will be no school on Thursday and classes will resume on Friday with a full day. School officials say details regarding any potential changes to athletic scheduling will be announced as soon as that information becomes available.

Mendon Public Schools will have a half-day of classes for students on Wednesday, and no school on Thursday.

Bronson Community Schools Interim Superintendent Kate Wall says there will be a half-day of school Wednesday for all students. School will be closed on Thursday. Friday will be a full day of classes with a delayed start as scheduled.

Wall says athletic practice and game schedules will be discussed and any changes will be communicated as they become available.
