Homegrown Arts And Music Festival Happening Today

(STURGIS) – Local musical groups and artists will be on display today.
The 12th annual Homegrown Arts And Music Festival will be taking place at Oaklawn Park in Sturgis. The Festival actually started 13 years ago, but due to COVID, this is the 12th year of music.
Eric Wynes, one of the founding member of the band Phins Up, came up with the idea of Homegrown as a way to spotlight local music. He says he’s impressed by how the event has grown over the years. ...... {LISTEN}.

Today’s performances start at 12 PM with Sporkfight; followed at 1:35 PM by Delbert Walling and Jim Knisely. At 3:05 PM Six to One will take the stage then at 4:35 PM After Midnight will entertain the audience. Phin Up will start at 6:05 PM followed by the headlining band The Verve Pipe at 8 PM.
In addition to music, local artists are also a part of the event, showing their pieces and also having them for sale. There will be kids games and events being put on by the Sturgis Academy Of Martial Arts.
The Sturgis Kiwanis Club will have a beverage garden. The St. Joseph County United Way will have food and beverages on sale throughout the day.
In addition, the Sturgis High School All Class Reunion will be taking place.
There is not cost to get into Homegrown.
