(STURGIS) – A investigation into shots being fired led to the detention of several juveniles.

Sturgis Deputy Director of Public Safety Damon Knapp says at 10:15 PM Sunday, officers were called to the 400 block of South Fourth Street on a report of shots being fired into a residence. Officers located juveniles in the area, and further investigation determined that pellet and BB guns were used to damage property at several residences.

The weapons were confiscated and the juveniles were detained and then turned over to their parents.

Knapp says there were other complaints in the area, with holes reported in windows and siding. Due to locating the offenders so quickly, the risk to the public was minimized and no injuries were reported.

If anyone has further information regarding this case, they are asked to contact the Sturgis Department of Public Safety at 269-651-3231.
