(LAGRANGE) - The community had the opportunity to hear from individuals running for office in the November 3 General Election.

The LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce recently held a "Meet The Candidates" forum to hear from individuals who are running for local, State and Federal offices.

Two of the candidates that answered questions from the Chamber were Republican Incumbent District 51 State Representative Tony Isa and Democratic challenger Judy Rowe.

The first question asked to them was "What is one major challenge facing Indiana that you believe the State Legislature must address and what would your approach be?"

Rowe was the first to answer the question, saying the cost of living is too high for Indiana residents, and it's not just the price of groceries or gas, but the cost of building a life here. She says people struggle with child care, health care, utilities and wages that aren't keeping up. Rowe says even those that do okay worry about if their kids or grandchildren will be able to afford a decent life in Indiana.

Next Isa shares his response, saying health care costs are the No. 1 issue in Indiana. He says they need to be reduced. Isa says he recently spent 8 hours at Ascension Hospital Indianapolis going over the issues and how to reduce health care costs.
