Goshen Invitational at MapleCrest
1. Fairfield 349; 2. Northridge 354; 3. Goshen 357; 4. NorthWood Concord 362; 6. Westview 365; 7. Elkhart Memorial 384; 8. Elkhart Central 412; 9. Jimtown 419; 10. Lakeland 440. Travis Hermon of Concord, Connor Carpenter of Fairfield and Sean Hogan tied for medalist honors with rounds of 80. Westview’s Carter Giggy was fourth with 81.

Owl Invitational at Cardinal Hills by Muncie Burris
Hamilton places sixth as Ty Ritter shot a 106.

HS SOFTBALL:
Angola 1, Lakeland 0 9 innings (Lakers outhit the Hornets 7-3 and were perfect in the field but couldn’t across any runs.)
Lakeland 11, Bishop Luers 1 (Lakers Kylee Palmer was 4 for 4 and scored 4 runs to lead Lakeland past Luers. Hannah Harris and Chloe Gust each had 4 rbi. Gust pitched 6 innings giving up 2 hits and one walk.)

TRACK & FIELD:
The Sturgis girls track and field team was 6th with 27 points at the Lakeview Invitational. Meg Scheske was champion in the 1600 meter run, 3rd place in the 300 hurdles and 4th in the 3200 relay with Meah Yunker, Kiley Pedue and Lexani Alejo Hernandez. Paige Geroux was 3rd in the Pole Vault.
Bronson was seventh with 24 points.

The Sturgis boys finished third. Jackson VanAlmen won the discuss. Noah Franks was second in pole vault. The 4 x200 relay team of Nick Stanke, Logan Cleveland, Brady Sholl, and Christian Rooyakkers was third. Sholl was third in the 200 meters.

HS GIRLS TENNIS:
Northridge 5, Lakeland 0

HS GIRLS SOCCER:
Harper Creek 3, Sturgis 0 (on Friday, Harper Creek outshot Sturgis 12-1. Trojans goalkeeper Rylee Wanamaker stopped 9 shots as Sturgis falls to 1-1 on the season.)

HS BASEBALL:

Lakeland 14, Angola 8
Fremont 11, Westview 10 – Fremont handed Westview their first conference loss holding off a seventh inning rally that scored twice but came up one run short of tying the game.

MWL:
Fort Wayne TinCaps split a doubleheader with the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays affiliate) at Bowling Green Ballpark on Sunday afternoon. Fort Wayne won the first game, which was the continuation of a game suspended by rain on Saturday night, 6-0, while Bowling Green claimed the series finale, 4-3, in eight innings (the game was scheduled for seven innings).

Milwaukee 121, Detroit 86 (Bucks led by as many as 43. Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond spoke with the media following their 121-86 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in game one of their first round series. He was ejected in the third quarter after a shove on Giannis Antetokounmpo. He says other guys have to step in Blake Griffin's absence who is out with a knee injury.
