Monday morning scores: Westview XC places third at state


TERRE HAUTE – Competing against some of the largest schools in Indiana, the Westview boys cross country team finished third in the state finals on Saturday.
Carmel won the meet with 94 points. Fishers was second with 152, and Westview third with 171. West Noble was 24th.
Westview’s Rich Stoltzfus finished ninth. The senior ran the course in 15:39.3 – 22 seconds behind medalist Gabe Fendel of Hamilton Southeastern.
Matthew Yoder came in 12th, Spencer Carpenter was 56th, Remington Carpenter was 88th, Abe Jones was 102nd Kent Yoder 104th, and Anthony Schwartz 153rd out of 208 runners.
In the girls race, Northridge finished 23rd.
DeKalb’s Tyler Schwartz finished third individually. East Noble’s Kayla McColloch was fifth. Lauren Beckman of DeKalb was 15th. Senior Jenna Miller led Northridge by finishing 65th. East Noble’s Olivia Smolinske was 80th.
