No. 2 Niles Brandywine girls fall to No. 1 Yps. Arbor Prep 33-30 in Finals
(EAST LANSING) – The Niles Brandywine girls basketball team was looking to win a Division 3 State basketball title in the same year as the Bobcat boys did. However, it wasn’t to be as the No. 2 Lady Bobcats lost to No. 1 Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 33-30 in the Division 3 State Finals. Niles Brandywine was held to their lowest scoring output of the season in the loss. Poor free throw shooing (2-10) and turnovers hurt the Lady Bobcats, along with allowing 13 offensive rebounds. Junior Adelyn Drotoz led Brandywine with 9 points while senior Kadence Brumitt had 7 points and 9 rebounds. Niles Brandywine ends the year at 26-2. Ypsilanti Arbor Prep, despite shooting 25% from the field (12-48), won it’s second Division 3 title in three years and finishes the season at 25-4.
