David Stern, the NBA commissioner during the most successful period in league history, has died, the league announced Wednesday. He was 77. Stern died as a result of the brain hemorrhage he suffered three weeks ago.

The only man to ever pitch a no-hitter in the World Series is dead. Don Larsen was 90. He accomplished the feat while pitching for the Yankees in the 1956 World Series against the Dodgers. Larsen died from esophageal cancer.
