Local legion welcomes national commander

LAGRANGE – American Legion national commander Brett Riestad (RYE-stad) was in Lagrange Tuesday morning to visit the local post.

Riestad said the Legion is marking its 100th anniversary this year. He is touring many local posts and getting member feedback on issues affecting the legion and veterans.

He was accompanied by the Legion’s state president and was greeted by the local legion color guard, legion members, State Senator Sue Glick and State Representative Dennis Zent.
