Two car crash sends five to the hospital


ELKHART – Five people were taken to a hospital after a two vehicle crash near Elkhart on Saturday morning.

Sheriff’s Deputies say 38-year-old Stephanie Gonzalez of Elkhart was driving a car that rear-ended another car stopped in traffic.

Gonzalez and four passengers in her car were taken to Elkhart General Hospital. One of them- 3 -year-old Kaydenn White – suffered a broken arm. He was sitting on the rear floorboard of the vehicle.

Police ticketed Gonzalez for following too closely, no valid drivers license, no insurance, and two child safety restraint violations.

52-year-old Amy Cartwright of Elkhart was driving the vehicle that was rear-ended. She was taken to Elkhart General with pain to the face and eye.
