AG Jeff Sessions in Fort Wayne today

FORT WAYNE – Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be in Fort Wayne today.

The A-G is expected to deliver some remarks about immigration policy under the Trump administration.

Sessions will be at Parkview Field this afternoon to address the local news media.

The Department of Justice announced Monday that domestic and gang violence will generally not be considered grounds for asylum. Hours before the announcement, Attorney General Jeff Sessions..speaking to D-O-J employees in Virginia, said the asylum system is being abused. He also called Congress to close what he called loopholes in the immigration system.

The change in policy announced as Sessions reversed a decision by a Justice Department immigration appeals court that gave asylum to a woman from El Salvador who claimed that she was a victim of domestic violence.
