MIDDLEBURY – Both drivers went to the hospital following a two vehicle crash on U-S 20 at Elkhart County Road 33 on Friday.
Police say a car driven westbound by 49-year-old Robert Nowiki of Mishawaka crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi just before 1 p-m.
Nowiki’s car came to rest in a ditch and he had to be extricated. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of pain.
The semi driver – 47-year-old John Martin of Cleveland – also went to Elkhart General with compaints of pain to his shoulder. His semi ended up on its side.
Police cited Nowiki for driving left of center.
