SHERMAN TOWNSHIP – A two vehicle crash Thursday morning sent a man to the hospital.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department was called to M-66 and Maystead Road in Sherman Township just before 4 AM. Deputies say a pickup driven by 55 year old Julie Rosen of Sturgis was struck by a car that crossed the center line.

The driver of the car was identified as 34 year old Jaren Overley of Decatur. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies didn't say if Rosen was injured in the incident.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Assisting at the scene were the Tri Township Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.
