Threats close Three Rivers Schools on Friday

THREE RIVERS – Three Rivers Community Schools will be closed today after authorities became aware of potential threats.

In a posting on the District's web site, Interim Superintendent Rob Kuhlman says late Thursday afternoon, Three Rivers High School received three different tips via Ok2Say about potential threats towards the high school. The tips seem to be unrelated.

Ok2Say allows anyone to confidentially report criminal activities or potential harm directed at Michigan students, school employees or schools.

One of the tips resulted in a Three Rivers High School student being question by the Three Rivers Police. The student was later released to their parents.

The two other tips were more vague in nature.

Kuhlman says the District takes all threats seriously. And as a result of these threats, the school district will be closed today.

Kuhlman says the Three Rivers School administration will continue to work closely with the Three Rivers Police to ensure the continued safety of the students and staff.
