Area schools show support for coach with leukemia

BRONSON – The Big 8 Conference is rallying around one of their coaches.

Bronson High School Athletic Director and varsity volleyball coach Jean LaClair is battling a form of cancer known as acute promyelocytic leukemia, which is extremely aggressive but very treatable.

To help with her expenses, the other Big 8 Conference schools will be doing Hat Day, this coming Friday. Each student in the school will pay $1 to wear a hat at school for the day. All the proceeds will go to LaClair to help with her medical expenses.

A Go Fund Me page that was started in December by Bronson girls varsity basketball coach Tony Lasky has seen just $9,920 donated towards the $25,000 goal.

This is LaClair's second battle with cancer in the last four years.

If you would like to make a donation, you can go to Go Fund Me dot com and look for fight for coach.
