Sewer Work To Be Paid For With Major Moves Funds

(LAGRANGE) – Sewer expansion work in and around Howe will be paid for out of the Major Moves fund.

During a joint meeting of the LaGrange County Commission and the County Council Tuesday morning, the group voted unanimously to have the County grant $1.7 million from Major Moves to fund the proposed work.

Commission President Larry Miller says he's glad to see this plan finally coming together.

Councilman Mike Strawser shared that during the budget hearing on Monday, the Council learned of a TIF District for that area of Howe, and wondered if TIF money could be used towards this project.

County Staff shared with the Commissioners and Council that there are future development plans for the Howe-121 area, and they want to use the TIF money for some of those. It's the hope that some of those projects could get started before the end of 2017.
